Server room maintenance, commissioning and continuity

Server room planned maintenance, commissioning and infrastructure continuity in Nigeria

A backup isn’t verified until a restore is tested.

For organisations that need evidence their equipment environment and backups will recover, and a maintenance plan that keeps it that way.

What we usually find

The problem in the room

  • Backups exist but no restore has ever been tested.
  • Installed equipment was never formally commissioned or handed over.
  • Maintenance happens only after something fails.
  • No written picture of what a power, cooling or link failure would affect.
01

Commissioning against written criteria

Power, cooling, monitoring and cabling are tested against acceptance criteria agreed before installation, with you present and results recorded.

02

Restore tests, not backup assumptions

We scope and run a restore test with your ICT team or approved provider, so recovery time is measured rather than estimated.

03

A planned maintenance programme for your site

After the assessment we can propose a maintenance programme covering the site's UPS and batteries, cooling, monitoring and generator interfaces. Scope, visit frequency and responsibilities are agreed with you in writing. The work is carried out by competent OEM or specialist partners named for the project. This is planned maintenance, not an emergency call out or round the clock support service.

Scope

Deliverables, responsibilities and evidence

Scoped deliverables

  • Continuity review of power, cooling, connectivity and backup dependencies
  • Prioritised risk register linked to observed evidence
  • Commissioning and handover checklist for installed infrastructure
  • Restore test plan, run with your ICT team
  • Proposed maintenance programme for UPS and batteries, cooling, monitoring and generator interfaces, with responsibilities agreed after assessment

Responsible specialists

  • Backup platform changes by your ICT team or a qualified provider you approve
  • Cybersecurity, data protection and compliance advice from certified specialists, not provided by AFRICORE
  • Equipment maintenance through OEM or approved partners

Acceptance evidence

  • Restore test records with timings
  • Commissioning records signed off by you
  • Risk register with an owner and next step for each item

This is an infrastructure review and coordination service. It is not a certified cybersecurity audit or compliance assessment.

How it’s delivered

Assessment first. Then design, quotation and tested handover.

The engineers and partners for your project are named in the written quotation. Design and acceptance criteria are agreed with the responsible engineers. See our design references.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this a cybersecurity or compliance audit?

No. It is an infrastructure review and coordination service. Certified cybersecurity, data protection or compliance assessments must come from specialists certified for them.

Can you commission equipment another contractor installed?

Often, if documentation and access allow. We agree the test method and acceptance criteria with the responsible engineers first.
